A Point-in-Time (PiT) Count will help determine the extent of homelessness on a given night, or at a single point in time. Previous Counts have taken place in Halifax in 2005 and 2015. Starting with the 2016 PiT Count, Halifax is part of a national coordinated Point-in-Time Count supported by the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS).
This information will allow government, service providers, community groups, and funders to plan appropriate programs to address homelessness and assess our progress in reducing homelessness.
Complete information on Point-in-Time Counts can be accessed on the Government of Canada website.
Thanks very much for your interest, however volunteer registration is now closed.
