What is the simplest way renters can FIND and KEEP safe, affordable, and stable housing?
Being a valued tenant (and a good neighbor) is the easiest way to maintain stable housing. The Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia has launched RentersEd, a new program designed to improve access to safe, stable, and affordable housing for families and individuals through education.
Our team now delivers tenant education programs for renters of all backgrounds:
To educate tenants and prospective tenants about their obligations and rights under the Residential Tenancies Act;
To provide early intervention and support through education to enable tenants to independently manage their tenancy; and
To improve living skills with a focus on housing issues to reduce the likelihood of evictions and homelessness. RentersEd gives tenants from all backgrounds the knowledge they need to turn their "Home for Now" into "Home Sweet Home".
RentersEd has its own website! Visit rentersed.ca for more information, including registration, upcoming program calendar, and partnership opportunities.
