The Opportunity
The Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia (AHANS) is on a mission to end homelessness and deliver sustainable, affordable housing solutions. We are seeking passionate, strategic leaders to join our volunteer Board of Directors and help guide our next chapter of growth.
What You Will Do

GOVERN:
Annually attend four quarterly board meetings, committee meetings, and the AHANS September Annual General Meeting.

STRATEGIZE:
Collaborate on long-term strategic plans and oversee financial performance.

ADVOCATE:
Represent AHANS in the community and support funders.
What We are Looking For
-
Passion for affordable housing and ending homelessness

Experience serving on a board of directors or comparable leadership

Knowledge of nonprofit governance and best practises

Understanding of financial management & budgeting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people
