2025 Point-in-Time Count: Changes We Would Like to See in HRM

Friday, November 28 - On October 15th, we conducted the 2025 Point-in-Time Count, a snapshot of homelessness in HRM on a single night. On CBC News Nova Scotia, Executive Director Michael Kabalen discusses the changes we would like to see in Nova Scotia. This year, 1,150 individuals were counted experiencing homelessness, with an increase of 68% in shelters. This indicates a greater need for investment in permanent, long-term solutions to keep homelessness brief and non-recurring.
