$6 Million in Federal Reaching Home Funding in HRM to Address Homelessness

June 24, 2026 — Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia announced $ 6 million in funding in HRM this year through our role as a community entity for Reaching Home, Canada's Homelessness Strategy. The Government of Canada program is investing $5 billion over 9 years to help reduce and prevent homelessness through this program.
The announcement was made at the 902 Man Up Headquarters, Akwaaba Rev. Wallace Smith Sr. Campus in Dartmouth, NS, by the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada and Member of Parliament for Halifax West, on behalf of the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure and Minister responsible for Pacific Economic Development Canada, and the Honourable Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth–Cole Harbour, alongside Kevin Hooper, Community Advisory Board Co-Chair; Marcus James, Board President and Co-Founder, 902 Man Up; and Michael Kabalen, Executive
